    Just got an Argyll Jacket

Today, went into a vintage clothes store in Portsmouth and picked up an Argyll Jacket for £75

It's currently missing the buttons on the epaulettes(?)

But it fits rather well. even on the sleeves which is a nightmare for me normally due to my long, gangly arms (main reason I roll sleeves up to my elbows on shirts most of the time)

Nice find! As long as the epaulettes aren't flapping loose without the buttons (i.e., they're sewn down), then the buttons are optional.

No flappy flappy, so no problem, but I'm thinking of replacing the prince charlie style buttons with more traditional english buttons to reflect my English heritage

it seems to happen alot, got a pair of British army mess dress trousers, perfect fit, from a charity shop for £10, and both my wool kilts were secondhand buys, my cameron of erracht was £100 from the same place as the jacket and my McGregor Kilt was £40 made by Keith Scott (it's alil loose but nothing drastic)

It appears you may be of that "right size" to fit into vintage items, allowing for a great bargain!!
