In the previous post I was asked for the sett. It is 13.5 cm or about 5 1/4 but as you can see from the photo it is not symetrical.



Anyway, for the knife pleat I pleated to the white stripe with the green as the edge of the pleat. This gave me 7/8 showing. 26 pleats with 4 1/4 folded under. This is the result.



The box pleat was a little more complicated until I figured out how to pleat with alternating plain grey with two white stripes followed by the grey with the thin yellow/white and two green stripes. Pleat width is 2 1/2 inch with 5 in folded under. Here it is:




Some other info: Used the instructions from http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/chegc/kiltsite/page2.htm to lay out the and make the aprons (same for both) and for the back of the knife edge. For the box pleat I used the X-marks instructions for the pleating but only sewed up from the fell. Pleats are not sewn and just pressed to shape. Here's the front



Wore the box pleat last night to a St Patrick's Day Ceilidh. A friend and I were the only two kilted. No comments fron the audience but as I walked across the road to before the show got one pickup driver yell "There's a man in a skirt" Did not think he was worthy of any reply!!
