Damn nice kilt! I am just saving up to buy both of the Frasers Rocky offers. Btw, my wife says that you're a finely built lad, and she likes your knees! Men in kilts! She can't get enough!

That's a great looking kilt Steve, congratulations!

Nice one, looks just as good with the sporran and with the military style sweater.

WOW, I like that kilt with that sweater!

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Is it just a trick of light, or is there a white line near the selvedge that does not repeat elsewhere in the pattern?
I like the colors.

You are correct. That is a "selvedge stitch" (at least that's what I call it) That's how the mill handles the edge unless the tartan is special ordered. I'm looking for a brown sharpie to try and subdue the thread a bit but they are apparently very rare.
or is it...
Just a very tall sett patten?

That's a really nice tartan and looks great with both your outfits. Thanks for sharing!

What's rare? The stitch, or brown sharpies? You can find a brown sharpie at Staple's (if that's what you were referring to.)

I guess I need to widen my search grid If it isn't in the grocery store or the leather shop, I'm probably not going to stumble on it

If you are looking for a brown marker, look in the furniture polish section at Wallyworld, they have a furniture scratch repair kit with magic markers in 3 shades of brown.
They might work, try it in a hidden area first.
