Kilt No.2 (This time it’s too big)

Hello, my new black watch kilt came today and I really like the quality, it’s yards ahead of the temu crap I had before, but when I went to try it on it’s too big, way too big, it fell off just from walking around, I did both the straps as far they will go too.

I’m sending it back, my kilt luck doesn’t seem that great…

Since you’re in the UK is there anywhere you can go to try one on before purchasing?

It might be worth learning to make your own. There are probably lots of tutorials on this forum.

Did you check with the maker on how to properly measure before ordering?

I'd suggest you look at where you should measure for a kilt, find your measurements and then watch ebay. Without too much trouble you can probably find a RRS kilt with appropriate measurements.

No idea where kilt 2 was from but for not too much more, the RRS kilt would likely be another big jump in quality and actually fit.

Tartanista, honestly nice quality for the price, I don’t know who RRS are but I do keep an eye out at thrift shops and eBay, hopefully the next kilt will fit so I know my kilt size.

It seems the price has gone up a bit since I last searched but here's an example of one. Having handled a few acrylic kilts, there is no comparison between the two. I would consider investing a bit more in a wool kilt which will serve you well for years.

RRS = Royal Regiment of Scotland. These would be proper government issued military kilts.
