    The Power of the Kilt

Well, I wore a kilt to a beer festival and really got a taste of its power. Several groups of young women kept coming up to me and asking to have a picture taken with me. Several asked me "The Question" including some older ladies. And one very aggressive pair who just had to SEE what I didn't have on under it. One young lady actually grabbed me in the parking lot on the way out so she could get a picture with her and her friend. All in all, it made this nearly 45 year old guy feel pretty good to have all these 20-something young ladies giving me all the attention.

Oh yeah, it felt even better since the two friends I was with got to see me getting all the attention! Hee hee hee hee!

Dare you to head into Philadelphia in October to see Barleyjuice at Finnigan's Wake! Wear the kilt and see what it's really like when you're in the midst of youthful mayhem.

Best part is... I'll have a nice overhead view of the event. Oh, you won't be alone with the kilt either.

~Before I forget, you can attend any performances in your neck-of-the-woods by either Dennis Schocket or Starbelly. In either case, make sure to be seen in your kilt! Let them know that I sent you that way, and you're GUARANTEED a good evening of beer and song!!!

While I was at the festival, a few other men in attendance stated they should have worn their kilts, so maybe there will be more at the festivals in the future. Of course I'm not sure that's such a good thing for me, because then I wouldn't be the "Man in the Kilt" and get all the attention. It even feels good when the big biker-looking guys give you compliments.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the beer wasn't bad either! Anyone in the area should check out the festival. It's held at the Stoudt's Brewery in Adamstown, PA three times a year: June, August, and September. There's always at least a dozen, and sometimes over twenty breweries present. Ever since I've been going (10 years now) they always have the Daisy Jug Band for entertainment, who play a combination of country and rock. They're pretty good and it's great beer music.
