Kiltpin on my AmeriKilts
Decided to wear my AmeriKilts to work this week. Hot out there, dog days of August and all.
On a lark pinned my clan sword kilt pin on my black AmeriKilt. Not only gives the light apron some weight, it really dresses up the kilt.
Wearing the black AK with my new West Point tartan shirt, black soccer sox pushed down, and black tennis shoes. Just that one little pin seems to set the tone.
Hadn't expected the formal kilt pin to so dress up a casual kilt.

Did you go to West Point "USMA"?

Nope, just like the black and gray tartan and L.L. Bean is selling it so bought one. Goes well with black kilts. Its hard to find tartan shirts to go with solid kilts. Military time was with the USN and USMC....a very very long time ago...

Ron,
Does the pin leave a lasting hole in your plain kilts? I'm afraid to damage my aprons. :-?

No hole that I can see, its a pretty tight twill. Standard sword and crest type kilt pin.

I usually wear a kilt pin on my AK putty. It helps to keep that light weight apron down and have no evidence of any holes from the pin.

Have any of you tried a pin on a UK? I'm thinkin' that the narrow apron might not be conducive to pin usage - that you'd be knockin' it toward the center with each step, thereby opening up the gap.
I'm asking because I've got a nice pin (much like the XMarks pin I have on order), and the only kilts I wear on a regular basis right now are UKs.

I don't wear a kilt pin on my UK's, it just looks weird. I do on my PK.
