How do you wash your kilt hose?

Quick question here. I've got some kilt hose from SWK and they didn't come with laundry instructions. I'm not sure what they're made from so I didn't want to just chunk them in the washer.

I know some of you must have a few pairs of these from SWK as well. So how do you go about washing yours?

I just can imagine as they're wool hose, to wash by hand wash in cold water with a delicate clothes detergent, such as "Woolite" or "Norit" in Spain, at least that's what my mummy does!!! :mrgreen:

Oh...and about socks/hoses...I don't have a clue, my wife is "chief laundry" :mrgreen:

For those with only one or two pairs of kilt hose, I would say just hand wash them.

But I have a variety of kilt hose in various colors from several different manufacturers. The wool content varies from around 18% to 80%. I just toss them all in a basket after I wear them. When I'm about to run out of clean pairs, my wife washes them all in the machine in cool water on the gentle cycle. (Any other woolen or delicate clothes that need washing usually go in at the same time).

When done, sometimes she will run them through the spin cycle one more time to get most of the excess water out. Then they all get hung up to air dry.

I've had one or two pairs shrink using this method, but overall I have never had a problem.

I always use a mild shampoo when I hand wash wool. Works well.

I honestly just throw them in the wash with my regular laundry.

Well, I strongly recommend not to mix white/cream with coloured onesin nay case, even if water is cold.
