Im Going To War!!!

Estrella war that is ....5 days and counting!!!
yeah I know there are some that dont think highly of the SCA but its alot of fun !!

I'll be sure to post pics of myself and two fellow pipers as we pipe the baron's army onto the field!!!

BTW I know the Kilt may not be period... but my persona in the SCA lived in the time RIGHT BEFORE the invention of the gun so I feel I'm pretty close to being period at least!

hell I've learned so much about brewing mead, leather work, metal work ect. from the SCA and the fact that its a week of drumming,piping drinking , and belly dancers makes it a BLAST!!!
I'll have my digital video camera with me so hopefully I can find a hosting site like photo bucket for video and I'll put up some video too!!

I dont know if I can handle the wait!!! I leave Fri. night for Tucson Az the Tues its OFF TO WAR!!!

sorry I'm just excited and cant contain myself especially since I missed my first war in 10 years last year ( for good reason .....my wife didnt want to deliver our daughter in a campsite)

I think somebody goofed. :sad: Whoever set the dates here should have checked to see if any other activities were panned. I would have enjoyed going to war as well but the Queen Mary Scottish Festival is set for the same time in Long Beach, California. Maybe it was the only time that these two festivities could have been planned? It's just a short drive for me from Los Angeles to Phoenix and I would have attended. Think of how many others might have attended both venues had the planning been better...? I do hope that you have a great time though, maybe next year there will be a better separation and we can all meet up at both.

Sounds like a hoot man. I experienced my first faire of similar vein just last year and had an awesome time. Me being a musician and a jeweller i was picking up heaps of cool stuff: knife making, leathercraft, herb-lore (not just the homegrown variety), great music sessions too.I'm looking fwd to the next. enjoy!
