Congrats. A dirk is a completely unnecessary accessory, but a fun one to have. I love mine.

If anyone else is looking for an inexpensive dirk, I recommend you look here: http://budk.com/product.asp?pn=BK1093

    Bob,
That is a really low price. Did you buy one of these dirks? If so, do you think it is worth the money as an ornament for formal dress?

By the way, could you please start a new thread and explain the technique you recently mentioned for opening a champaign bottle with a dirk?

    Mr. Bill,
That looks like a nice dirk. I hope you don't have to wait too long.

Yes, I bought that dirk. The only tip-off that it is not a more expensive item is the "jewels." They're obviously plastic. You have to look closely to see it.

The blade looks good, and I used it to cut my chicken at a banquet.

I guess I could put the directions for opening champagne bottles in a new thread. I explained the whole thing i my pics thread. I was amazed how well it worked.

    Bob,

Oops! I missed that post somehow. Nevertheless, it is a unique enough piece of information that I think it deserves a thread of its own.

Done, Bill. It's in the off-topic forum.
