Jacket alterations
Somewhere in the past few weeks I read instructions on how to go about altering a standard suit jacket so that it can be worn with the kilt. Now I can't find this anywhere..I don't think it was on this site. Any help would be greatly appreciated (advice and/or links).
Also, would a grey tweed be OK for evening wear (NOT black tie events)?
Reason: The Black Watch will be here next month for an evening concert.

I used that when I modified a jacket. Just be sure to get one with patch pockets rather than slit pockets. It'll make things much easier.

OK, I'm off to the races. Just got back from the Goodwill store with a dandy light grey tweed jacket, like new, for a grand total of $5.84. It does have those awful slit pockets, however. I'm a glutton for punishment.
Will post a before/after photo later on (assuming that there is an "after" to photograph). :-)
