Epoxy Or something Else

I've got several embroiderd patches and instead sewing them on I've put pins on the backs. I used two part epoxy on them and was wondering:
A. How well it holds metal to cloth.It seems to be holding nicely.
B. Are there any alternatives that work as well if not better.
Any and all tips, suggestions etc. are appreciated.

It may work OK as long as you don't put the item in the wash. If there was a way to sew the items together, that might be more secure. As an alternate to epoxy, Gorilla Glue might be a worthy option. PVA glues are too soluable.

There is an epoxy I used to use in concrete work that bonded to cloth really well. If you dripped any on your pants it would set in the material and would tear little holes in the cloth if you tried to remove it. The only other way was to beat it with a hammer when it was fully hardened and let it crack into little chips that could be picked off.

I was doing a LOT of patches on my Utilikilt pockets...just ironed them on...since have taken some off...in fact most...I change, what I want on the kilt changes...would reccomend just sewing them on in case you change your mind...get it that you're using pins...can't see how that would work well with the changing shape of the kilts...

If you are looking for really good adhesion, try RayCrete(www.raycrete.com) or J-B Weld (http://www.jbweld.net/index.php)

Either of these is far better than standard two part epoxy.

I agree with Ron, sew them on (hey, that rhymes).

you can undo the threads when you want a change. Embroidery seems to be made to attach to cloth, not metal IMHO
