Scottish Kilts.net is that the same. There was a sale for 5 yard tanks a couple of weeks ago. It looks great . a bit long perhaps but well made. It fits too. This was the one that's been at the top of the list.

Nope, different companies. I know a bunch of guys on here ordered these kilts. I am really wanting to hear what the 5 yard kilts are like and to see some pics.

    Question Couple questions...

On that 5 yrd. kilt, how many pleats? and how wide and deep are they? I've been interested in one of those, but wonder how the back looks compared to a trad. 8 yrd.

I was reading this thread when my doorbell rang and guess what was waiting in the postman's hand? MY Irish-American 5 yd. kilt. (I'll bet you guessed that.)

I'm no expert but here is my take on it. The fabric is heavy wool (they claim 16oz and I can't dispute that) and feels very nice. The length is good and it fits well. I dont' own a traditional 8yrd so I cannot compare it to one.

I CAN count pleats and mine has 28. If by pleat depth you mean with the pleat closed you slide in a ruler until it hits bottom it's about 1 1/2 inches. If what you mean by wide is flipping pleat open and measuring across then about 3 inches. I measured several and I do have to say they are not perfectly uniform.

All in all for (ahem!) $104.00 American I'm very pleased with it and the service and speed of delivery were very fine.

    Cheers

The pleat face is about one inch the depth is three inches. It's not as fine as an eight yard but that can be a good thing when you drive. As far as pictures they had one in the Irish kilt store a while ago. Or if some one can help me post it here with out thed photo bucket thingy. I'm not very computer literate. I'll try to get someone to take my pic this pm.
