scottishkilts.net?
Has anyone ever purchased through www.scottishkilts.net?
I know there was one shop that posed some serious problems, but I do not think this was the one. I think that was something like the Scottish Store or someting.
Anyways, these guys sell a number of kilt styles, and some of the prices aren't bad. Just looking for general feedback, if anyone knows anything.

I have an 8 yard 16 oz handsewn in the Jura range from them and love it. It is very well made, and I got great service from them.

I also ordered a charcoal tweed jacket and waistcoat from them a few years ago, and a dress sporran earlier this year. They are affiliated with www.tartanweb.com

That's encouraging. For the price, I may be tempted to bit on the Scots-American tartan.
I wonder how long their end of season sale runs?

Propably not much longer, as the pre-Christmas/New Years season will start fairly soon. Good luck.
My only complaint was that their communication is lacking sometime, but they always get the job done.

I bought a 5-yard kilt in the Irish American tartan from them. So did about a half-dozen other members of this forum. Workmanship and customer service were good. I am going to order a 5-yarder in the Scottish (Scots) American tartan in the very near future.

I bought a 5 yard from them last Nov. It arrived earlier than anticipated, and is fantastic. On the other hand, I tried e-mailing them several times with questions and never got a single response. Also for some reason it took nearly two weeks from the time I got shipping notification for it to actually show up (I'm blaiming ParcelForce).

here is the link to some photos of the Scots American in action. I recieved my kilt from SK.net and it took a while but it is excellent in quality and price. It is truly a TANK if you get the premium 16oz 8 yd kilt.

I think the one you were thinking about was www.scottishclansman.com and yes they take forever to deliver. I finally got mine from them tho after the extremely long wait. My buddy that ordered his at the same time is still waiting.

Neo, I figured after a good handful of positive remarks that scottishkilts.net wasn't the "problem child", but thanks for the input... I know another place to avoid.

I know some people have had problems with scottishkilts.net, but I'm not one of them. I've ordered a few things from them (including my wedding outfit!) and I've been happy with the service. They are a bit slow on the uptake sometimes via email, though.
I'm about to order the three button tweed jacket with waistcoat once our security deposit refund check clears the bank. I'm seriously considering adding the 5yd Irish-American kilt to it.
