Found some Carharrt Fabric which is going to be the next Kilt. I'm thinking of Knockin' off the Utilikilt pleats for a workman style Kilt (which I will own the workman in the future). X-Kilters, Home Depot has the best prices for the clasps. D -Rings for the front belt loops can be bought at any fabric store.
I've made a few with the UK apron arrangement, but still had pleats go in one direction around. That way you still get the easy apron fall when you sit, but the easier pleat building of a regular kilt.
I plan on trying an XKilt in Duck next myself.
