I guess I need to post this here:

I would actually PREFER the navy
(esp as I already have some -4 yard single width- 14 oz from the last run).

I plan on a 4 yard kilt of 16 and maybe a second or vest, ot some other stuff with the other half of the double.

    Anyone else?

    Thumbs up

The Navy or "Modern" is an alternate only. It would be completely different than the previous runs of the X Marks Tartan.

No decision has been made to weave an alternate version. That decision would be up to the members who have outstanding orders in.

That would make an awfully thick hem in a 16-oz fabric, wouldn't it?

I have hemmed a 16 oz. kilt with no problem of thickness. It's actually only three layers of fabric at the thickest. You use a 1" or better blind hem. If done carefully, and by hand, it is almost unnoticable to anyone but a really good kiltmaker.
I think Barb hemmed a couple of run #2 X Marks kilts in 14 oz.
