    Weight loss

I recently started a diet and exercise problem to cut down my weight. I've lost 9 pounds, so far. The problem is, at this rate, the kilt I just bought is going to be too big soon.

I think I've found a way around it, though. I can buy a new, smaller, kilt. Then, when my current kilt is too small, I can give it to my girlfriend to rework so it fits again. While she's doing that, I can wear the smaller kilt. Then when that one is too big, I'll buy a third smaller kilt to wear while the first two are reworked, and so forth. I can keep this up until I reach my target weight, and I have a closet full of kilts.

    What do you think?

I would think it would be doable. I am not a tailor but I have had the same idea as I am trying to fight the middle age spread.

    Unhappy too much money

I think you should QUIT exerciseing and loosing weight.
This buying a new smaller kilt so often is not thrifty, unless you can sell the large kilt.

Sell a kilt! No, I can't do that. No, buying lots of new kilts is the best idea...

    I think it's a great idea.
I lost a lot of weight and regretted not being able to re-tailor my own kilts.
Now I have someone who can!

I think for every bit of weight that you use, you should add another pleat from the apron. That way your kilt will always fit!

(I don't know if this is even possible, but it sounds like a good idea!)

Wish I had thought of this. A great way to build a kilt collection and at the same time get the wife's approval and praise. Of course one can never have to many kilts, so this method could lead to disappearing if you turn sideways.

Of course by Kilt number four your girl friend may not BE your girlfriend any more... We may see on the six-o'clock news; "Unidentified kilted man found beaten to death, aparrently with a sporran containing a brick... Girl friend heard to mutter over and over; "No more pleats! No more pleats!".

I'll have to ask my girlfriend to take a look at it. That sounds like a doable thing, maybe. What do you do about the straps and buckles, though?
