I'm impressed by the attention to detail!

    Steve,

Just finished torturing myself by coveting the kilts on your web site and while browsing the gallery noticed the pics here
    http://www.freedomkilts.com/gallery....1&model=tartan

The kilt looks great (it even makes Mike look pretty good ) but take a look at the shot of the under apron pocket...the tartan sett on the pocket lines up with the sett on the under apron!!!! That's what I'm talking about!!!! If I had only been born rich instead of good looking I'd have a closet full of these kilts.

Now excuse me I need to go lay down for a minute.

On the serious side has anyone else here pondered the idea of a Freedom Kilts "Kilt Suit" with a matching kilt, jacket, and vest? It would be pricy but I think that 20th Century Kilts are the only other kiltmakers currently offering one.

    Cheers

Now that you mention it: yes! I suspect we are not the only ones...

To be fair, Rockyand Matt can fix you right up. Wouldn't you like about 3 kilt suits in those Harris tweeds Matt just mentioned? Then there's the tartan tweed in Isle of Skye, how 'bout that one? Then there's ...

Steve's work is very good. I have my eye on the casual model. Someday, someday. The sooner the better.

I must admit, I love both tweed kilts and tweed jackets but a kilt suit doesn't do it for me.

Particularly something like that. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, it's quite smart in fact. I just don't like them.

I'm sorry to hop into the thread with you like this Chef, but I have the same feeling about tweed jackets with tweed kilts. if I understand you correctly. In my mind, it's just too much of the same. I think I would feel the same way about a tartan kilt with the same tartan made into a jacket as they seem to be talking about with the tweed tartans. It's just too much. That being said, I would love a tweed kilt with a solid color jacket, or the tweed jacket with a tartan kilt that goes well with it. However, that's coming from a blind guy, so for what it's worth...

BTW, congratulations on the new kilt, and thank you for the review.

    * Just to clarify, I am thinking of tweed as not being a solid color fabric.

Someone recently posted a great painting of John Brown wearing a solid color kilt suit so they are traditional (at least back to Victoria's time). Hamish has a couple of 20th Century Kilt suits that look just smashing on him.

    Cheers
