    US President in a kilt

Has a US President ever been known to don a kilt?

    Cheers

I remember reading that The Armstrong Clan presented Richard Nixon, and Niel Armstrong after the moon landing as they are both members of that clan.

Ah, but is there a picture of Nixon in it?

Thinking more broadly, does anybody know of any photos of ANY world leaders in a kilt?!

    Cheers

Oh yes, Idi Amin, one time president of Uganda. He was a mass murderer and very fond of wearing the kilt. I'm sure you should be able to find a picture of him kilted. He was obsessed with Scotland. His victims were often dumped in Lake Victoria and used to wash up on the opposite shore in the neighbouring country of Kenya. The film "The Last King of Scotland" is about him.

Perhaps you were hoping for someone more pleasant?

I suppose that as and when Charles becomes king, that'd count!

It'd be nice to think that our Scottish Prime Minister would be seen in a kilt sometimes. As for SNP leader Alex Salmond, here are his thoughts on kilts:
