Another sporran
Here's another sporran I just finished. Sorry for the bad pics, I took them with me phone, my camera is on loan...

This is the first sporran that I covered the flap closure. It wasn't as hard as I thought. I still don't have a machine that'll stitch leather so it's all still done by hand. But I'm on the lookout for one.
The button is a piece of deer antler, and the white string pulls are bone. The celtic cross is pewter with a small red fruby (fake ruby) inset in the middle.
Every one I make, I get a little faster and make improvements as well. This is the first one that I felt that it looked "professional". Not up to the standards of the sporran makers out there, but I'm not ashamed of it!
I'll post better pics when I get my camera back this weekend.

Looks great! The phone isn't too bad either, especially since the photos only needed to be big enough to post on a forum.

Nice looking Sporran! If you are interested here is a link to some pics of the machine I use...http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/r...x.html?t=43389 I have seen models like this around reasonably priced, It only does a straight stitch and no reverse, but it will sew anything that is crammed under the foot.

Thanks!
I know one thing, my hat's off to those custom sporran makers out there. They make this stuff look easy and turn out perfect everytime.

Even with poor photo quality it looks like a very nice sporran- my hat's off to you. I am working up to doing that myself- once we get past the holidays and I have a little more discretionary cash.

Truly a good looking sporran. :toast"
I have a Rob Roy type on my to-do list. Unfortunately, the "Honey do" list is also there, trying to balance the two is a real job.
