Scottish kiltmaker trying to go modern?

I apologise if this was already posted, but I just found this story about a kilt maker on the Royal Mile trying
different ways to bring the kilt 'into the 21st century'.

Ironically, it came up whilst I was looking for an Aussie kilt maker (so I can avoid the horrible exchage rate).

21st Century kilts are pretty well known on the forum. If you want to know more, just search and I'm sure you find many articles about (Geoffrey) Tailor.

Oh yeah -- I remember them, now. They were out of my price range when I was first looking. Still are, in fact. :-/

If you mention that you've found a comparable kilt elsewhere she might be able to help you out. They are affiliated with scottishkilts.net so have a look there to see if you see anything to your liking... or of course she can hand-stitch you an 8 yarder.

I'll keep that site in mind. I'm not ready for an 8-yard kilt, so I've been looking at 5-yard prices. Although, even with the horrible exchange rate, kiltstore is noticeable cheaper. Of course, the shipping rate could eat that up...
