    SWK-need a quick fix

I was checking out SWK's site and saw they have the MacDonald in their Standard kilts-now I've always liked the tartan and I sure it would be a very comfortable kilt here in Virginia during the hot and humid summers.

I'm also wanting a new kilt fix badly and quickly for some odd reason!!!! Here is the link:http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Sti...FREE%20Flashes!

Now the question is how well to the pleats hold up in the Standard? Also how are the buckles and straps? I've never ordered a kilt for myself from SWK-I always seem to miss my size in the tartans I like.

If anyone has a MacDonald from them please feel free to post a picture-front and pleat.

    thanks

    Greetings,
I have SWK's at all levels they currently offer for sale.
The standard and Heavyweight Wool are really quite nice. I doubt that the run of the mill observer (ie non-kiltie) would likely not see any difference between these and tanks. Of course the wearer would know.

I think that the SWK's offer great value for the money. Eventually the acryllic does pill up a bit, but the pleats seem to hold up pretty good for me.

The SWK Thrify Kilt is great lounge wear for around the house, but much too light to wear comfortably in public (at least for me).

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers,

Thanks alot, I've never owned a acryllic kilt-does the pilling happen because of washing or just wear and tear?

I have a standard and a heavyweight. I like them both, but the heavyweight is the only one that I would buy again. The standard feels very light, while the heavyweight feels like a kilt, due to it's heavier fabric. The buckle straps are a touch thin, but they hold up to my abuse, and I'm pretty hard on clothes. I give SWK my whole-hearted endorsement. Buy and wear with pride!

I have 2 of the SWK standards and love them. So far, everything is in good order with no pilling yet. I do plan on getting a wool kilt from them soon though...

I had to resew a few pleats on my first SWK, havn't yet on my second, I might get a wool one from them after taxes get back, but I dunno.

I agree about the thrifty being loungewear. My son's thrifty has held up to being worn by a 4 year old though.

Here's my take- don't get the acrylic, especially if you live in hot and humid climates. They don't breathe worth a darn. You'll sweat like crazy in places you shouldn't. The wool breathes much better. My shadow tartan is much more comfortable in the heat than the acrylics, and the wool has a much lower chance of catching fire if you have friends who smoke!
