Favorite Pleating Style
My search skills might not have been up to par, but I wanted to know what everyone's favorite pleating style was. Feel free to leave an explanation below. Why's are sure to vary.

Wow, I'm the first to vote! I like the sway of the knife pleats.

My tank is knife pleated to the sett (my great kilt is pleated to the stripe, or sett, and sometimes both.) Although, my next kilt will be one of Lady Chrystel's double box kilts.

Personally, I prefer the knife pleat, same reasons as the other guys.

I will go for the knife pleats too and for the same reason.

Knife pleats, for the simple reason that I have never consciously seen any of the other types (except in pictures).

I have no real preference. I have both knife pleated and box (and one double box) pleated kilts and like both styles. My next kilt will probably be in the Kingussie style.

Seeing as you own and have worn the fair spectrum, how would you compare knife pleats to the single and double box?

I like the swing of the knife pleat - it swings far better than the box, and since I like knife pleated kilts pleated to the stripe, they show well when walking.
However, for comfort when wearing a kilt all day, I prefer the box pleat as there is less fabric in the back. The overall weight is distributed and balanced better around the waist. A box pleat is more comfortable while driving. I haven't really noticed that much difference in weight between my four yard box (from Matt Newcome) and 6 yard double box (from Lady Chrystel).
But as I said, I don't really have a preference and tend to choose what kilt to wear based on the tartan and not the pleats.

I prefer knife pleats for their weight and sway but I've seen some very beautiful, very tempting box and double-box pleated kilts here... one of these days I hope to own one or two of them.
