    The New Tank

Sorry everyone...no pics, yet! I was just contacted by Wally Catanach that my tartan material had arrived from D.C. Dalgliesh. I was floored, as the order was placed in mid December. It was suppose to take ten weeks. Anyway, Wally will start on the MacDonagh kilt soon. Hmm, I might have it for St. Paddy's Day.

What are the colors of my tartan, you ask? Look at my avatar..the colors in the harp, well, that's my tartan! When it's done, I'll be posting some pics, for sure.

Oops! The colors don't look too great on the avatar. The main body of the kilt is green, with red, blue, and black running throughout.

I'm currently in the market for a new kilt; so, I'm all ears when a kilt-maker I've not heard of is mentioned... Please, tell us about him!
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

Wally's screen name on this forum is ChattanCat. Do a search of "Wally Catanach" and there are at least 2 reviews of kilts he has made.

    Here is Wally's website: http://waterfallkilts.com/Home

Thanks, Bill, for displaying Wally Catanach's information. He's a great, up and coming kilt maker.

I found Wally on XMTS and checked out the reviews...all positive!! His work is all done by hand stitching! His workmanship, as to what I've read, is perfect, and he strives to correct any minor details.

Another factor in choosing him...he's located in State College, PA, which is less than two hours drive from Latrobe. So, I'll drive up there to get it once it's completed. Nice added touch.

I talked to Wally the other evening, on the phone, to finalize the measurements. He seems very genuine. And, he's not into it for the money....it's called PASSION!!!

Detroit Pete, yes, great fly-fishing around State College....or JoePa territory.

If you go to State College, you have to contact Wallace.
