    Fabric Jones

Yay! My order for fabric from Scotweb finally went through!

I ordered 1 meter of PV McPherson red modern with my points, so all I'm paying is shipping.

What do I plan to make with my fabric you ask?

Well as some of you probably know already, I'm expecting another baby (gender unknown) and I enjoyed wearing my daughter around in this sling. (yes that is a bagpipe charm on my necklace, lol)
So I made this one to wear to Scottish events

But I've always wanted a sling in my clan tartan, so now the new McBaby gets to be carried around in style!

What a wonderful idea a MacBaby tartan sling. My daughter is expecting and I will consider making one for her.

What a wonderful idea. We're too old to have a bairn, but there are always grandchildren, I hope.

    Ahhh! The Jones is worse!

I got an email on the 22nd telling me that my fabric has shipped. Ahhhhhh! I thought that would decrease the jones not increase it 300%

Does anyone have experience ordering something from Scotweb and having it shipped Royal Mail small packet? How long did it take?

When I looked at Royal Mail's international services one said about 3 days to the US and the other said 30. I'm languishing away here!

In the mean time, I made an onbuhimo carrier for my 22 month old and for the decorative trim, I used sample swatches of MacPhearson red from Marton Mills' Keighlyey range to tide me over. It worked for about a day.
I'm pretty proud of it though. I embroidered some bagpipes on it because I thought it needed something.

Although every once in a while, I'll wear both my kids if I have to (one on front and one on back) most likely my husband will be wearing her and I'll be wearing the new baby. *

About 7-10 days from order to receipt, in my case. Looking forward to the results.

    Thumbs up Finished!

My fabric got here last Wednesday! I made the sling the very next day, but didn't have time to upload pictures. I pleated the shoulder to the yellow stripe.

Here they are. The newborn carry is modeled by my daughter's teddy bear.

And here's the hip carry with my daughter.

And here it is empty being used as a sash.
