Do you notice a difference?
Good day all,
I was at the mall yesterday wasting time withe my wife and I was wearing a Navy digital camo kilt with a military sweater and combat boots.
Now in this same mall when I have worn a tartan based kilt I get all sorts of looks and comments but while wearing the modern/casual kilt now where near the interest. I've noticed this other places to when wearing modern kilts no one really looks twice but a tartan based one... look out!

People are like bass...attracted to the rattle and flash...LOL!
Did you make the Navy digital camo? If so where did you find the fabric....I am stil active duty, and can see an opportunity to aggravate some fairly stuffy officers...

Here is the kilt -

One of the forum members made it for me in trade. Not sure where he got the material.

Out-------Standing! I absolutely hate that uniform...I Made Chief right before it came out, and they took my working khaki away from me...Then when we griped MCPON had the nerve to say, "a Sailor works for his anchors, not for the uniform..." ---- that...As you can imagine it torqued me off a bit, him telling me what I worked for for 16 years..hence my retirement in August...That, among other reasons..
I would seriously love to show up at morning quarters like that...It'd sure put hitch in someone's britches...and the kilt is certainly an improvement over the cargo pants...LOL..too bad they don't have a Glengarry option...digi camo with Navy tartan band...Hooyah!
Hmm..Chiefs anchor for a kilt pin...

Chiefs Anchor for a kilt pin... How about Craftmaster, ESWS and the garrison cap Anchor in a stack with the Anchor on the top ala UniRegs. And I don't believe that anyone wants to hear an old retired CPO gripe about the water camoflague uniform or the Ensign who got dressed in the dark uniform. At least we finally have a firefighting ensemble that will protect the firefighter.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

You are correct, Chief! We should come up with a thread for squids to gripe!
You know what they say about a griping Sailor!

I am looking for a large Sea Bee's pin. I maybe an ET but after working with PHIB I faught to get back to the Bees when transferrred out. Now I'm back to NMCB and hoping to be with them when I get my 20+. Most of the pins I've found are to small for using.
Now away from the Navy (sorry I derailed it) and -

Not all officers are stuffy!! :-)
Maybe we could all get them and write a point paper requesting an update to the current uniform regs?

True...My obstinate nautical terror program is specifically targeted at pinheads...not all pinheads are officers, and not all officers are pinheads!
Your idea of a point paper is probably a good one..but won't be too effective..the rapid progression of risk aversion in the khaki ranks prevents petty much of anyone from getting anything interesting done...also a reason to retire..besides, I don't have a JayGee that I can shanghai into writing it at the moment..
