    Military Style Kilt Sweater

Can anyone suggest a retailer or manufacturer of a nice military style kilt sweater? A sweater than would look good with a more formal, 16oz. wool kilt.

Not sure what distinguishes a "kilt sweater" from any other sweater, but be that as it may, I got one of these repro WWI American army sweaters for Christmas and just love it! The little pockets on the front are very handy when worn with a kilt:

Order a size smaller than you normally would....

They're probably referring to the MOD style sweaters worn with the kilt in the kilted Scottish regiments in Scotland for many years. This style has become extremely popular with civilian pipe bands here in the USA. It's even spawned a slang name for a certain type of pipe band, a "sweater band".

I've bought some very nice models and very cheap at WPG. I swear by them.

Wow, I like the olive drab one there. But is it just me, or does it look like it doesn't have the same shoulder patches as the others?

These are a little more subdued, but here are some from LL Bean:
