Michigan's "OFFICIAL" tartan

To all my fellow Michigan kilties,

Did you know that back on 02NOV2010, Govenor Jennifer Granholm approved the "Michigan Up North" tartan as the official state tartan?

This was a long time coming...I understand the weaver (from Alpena) first attempted to make a tartan for Michigan back in 1996.

Looks like I have another kilt to get ordered

or at least PLAN to order.

Hey! That's almost as beautiful as the Colorado state tartan! I would never be seen wearing it. however... I have a family of Buckeyes who don't give a damn for whole state of Michigan, 'cause we're from O- hi-o! GO BUCKS!!

My dad likes "useless nuts" actually...

I mean, the only thing a buckeye is good for is loading into slingshots, shooting squirrels!

I have a nice length of this tartan on hand right now, just waiting to be made into a kilt for a client who put his order in shortly after this tartan was made official. It's a really nice looking sett.

Would you mind posting some pictures when the kilt is done? It is actually a beautiful tartan.
