accesorising my grey kilt
I have just indulged myself with a dark grey kilt with black tartan effect to use as an alternative to clan or military tartan. Plan being to wear it with a lot of dark neutrals, grey and black. I believe it to be quite a contemporary look and to further that I am looking for a gloss black buckle, not too fussy design and a kilt pin of the same ilk something a little modern rather than traditional.
anyone got any pointers on suppliers of the same?

It should go with anything. Can we see a picture?

Since you have a contemporary look going I suggest you go with modern style accessories.
Have a look at the kilt belts offered by McRostie of Glasgow. See here: https://www.said.net/secure/mcrostie/index-shop.asp

I have a Black Isle kilt that I typically wear with my subdued blacks and greys as well, even wore it to a black tie event with my Holyrood so as not to "out-peacock" the WIFE, and it looks good from casual to dressy occasions depending on how you accompany it:

Heavy kilt belt with shiny metal or black enamel buckle not necessary---you might want to try a simpler wide black belt with an antiqued standard silver buckle to keep it subtle.

As I have indeed, a belt with a medium width and a gunmetal buckle.
