Lost a Thread?????
What happened to the thread about kilts and shooting suits that I just posted to? Am I losing my mind? Downunder Kilt had also posted to it, so surely not??

Re: Lost a Thread?????
If you look in the Traditional Wear Forum you will find your answer.
The thread was moved from the public forum because it was reported as a possible violation of Rule # 11.

Rule #11
- Whenever someone brings up the subject of weapons the discussion has always gone downhill rapidly. Because of this, we must insist that there will be no discussion, posting or photos of, weapons not traditionally or historically associated with the Kilt or Scottish Regiments.
Steve,
Thanks for your reply. I honestly don't remember (since I can't review the actual posts anymore) there being any discussion of weapons, at all. Perhaps I've missed something.
I'll check back one the mods have had a chance to puzzle this out.

Re: Lost a Thread?????
It's possibly because I'm new here, but rule #11 seems to deal specifically with weapons. Does it also extend to cover attire that is worn when hunting?
EDIT: davidlpope - you beat me to it

Perhaps that was the concern. Let's give the mods a chance to figure out what the basis for the infraction (if there was one) was.

Re: Lost a Thread?????
I can't remember if that first photo of the two guys in their fluros also had firearms in the picture, but if it did, then I guess it could be construed as violation of Rule 11 as you can't post photos of modern firearms. I was enjoying the thread, hope it comes back.

Turns out it did, although I'm sure the OP didn't intend to violate the rule. I've taken the liberty of redacting the b/w version that I had created to give a wide berth to the rules:

I'd be happy to do the same to the original if that would allow the thread to be reinstated.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Re: Lost a Thread????? check Kilt Advice
I posted to that thread, which has been moved to Kilt Advice.
I hope that Jock Scot sees it and maybe clues us in on Scottish practices. If I recall correctly, they were wearing kilts in THE QUEEN while stalking. I gather stalking differs that much from shooting in that I believe someone has already observed that nobody wears kilts shooting...
