    Kilted Roller Derby Ref

Maybe old news to some, but new to me.

My lady was at last night's big Roller Derby doubleheader in Denver last night and sent me a pic of the kilted ref.

Was a double header, not sure which teams were skating, but the main gig was the Denver Roller Dolls vs. the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. Both teams are based in Denver.

Nice to see a referee, of any sport, with common sense.

I regularly attend roller derby bouts kilted. They have asked me to become an official even--I would if I had the time. I do not know why, but kilts and roller derby just go together.

It may just be my eyes playing tricks, or wishful thinking. But that second ref (the one in the black helmet, at the one o'clock to the one in the white helmet), appears to be wearing a mini-kilt, and black stockings.
