    Hall Tartan Kilt

This is my Fifth(?) DIY kilt and definately the most challenging. It was actually finished in time for May Day but I have only recently had a friend available to take photos. As it has been so much time, I will only not mention all the unorthodoxies which I was backed into. One note however which turned out well, I put buttons on the underapron on the inside rather than taking a tab through a button hole.

Ditto on this. A look made for a time more romantic than the present.

Looks great, and I like how well the vintage style vest goes with it. Good Job!
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

The kilt looks great and the whole outfit looks very nice indeed and the sporran looks unusual, any details?

    Chris.
I should have not been so rushed in the first posting. Here are some details. The photos were taken at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum in the Chief Trader's 1855 new house (recently restored in 2003). The vest is an 1850 pattern from a friends reprint of a period tailors' manual (name forgotten). It is one I commonly wear at the site. The sporran I made a few years back from of all things a blackpowder shooting bag model with a roundel from Finn in Morro Bay Calif. It and the hose have previously appeared in the DIY subforum. The odd thing out is actually the tartan which was only created and registered in the 1990's.

I was waiting to see if anyone recognized the print of the young Victoria (ca.1836) in the background on the dining room wall. The tea cup is Blue Camilla from spode. Mine is a recent manufacture, but fragments of that pattern have been discovered at a nearby HBC site. The toast to the Queen photo had too much glare however. So much for a whitty idea.

Thank you all for the positive comments.
