    A Saturday piping.

Recently I scored an Argyll jacket on ebay, fits and looks well I'd think. I haven't had the time to take pics or wear it until Saturday for a funeral. I was piping in the minister and daughter.

Anyways, I'll accept an advice on the outfit. I don't have much in my closet that isn't tee shirts and such (I'm 20, gimme a break). I know many like tattersall and such, but I rather like the blue shirt.

    Cheers.

Considering everything you said, I'd say you look just right. Nothing wrong with the blue shirt at all, and I like your choice of hose, jacket, shoes, etc. The only thing I would have done differently is with the tie, but overall, I give it a "well done"!

I agree with Tobus. Everything generally looks fine. I wouldn't wear the tartan tie either. Whatever tie you do wear, snug the knot up a bit more to cover the collar button. I promise it won't strangle you. It looks like you have 2-3 fingers of space between your shirt collar and neck, so there's plenty of room there. I used to work at J.C.Penney's in the Men's Accessories department, and that was something I commonly saw with people that aren't accustomed to wearing a tie.

Perhaps a touch more turn-down on the hose. Bring the top of your hose to the top of your shin-bone - the part that sticks out just a bit below your knee - and not the bottom of the kneecap to show a little more of the knee. Doing this also covers alittle more of the garter flashes/ties.

As a 10-year piper, I can also say that the spacing on your drone cords looks to be a bit wide between your bass and middle tenor. (A hand-span from drone center to drone center is the general guideline I've been given, from more than one source. The length of a dollar bill is another suggestion. Some hand-spans are wider than others. ) Tightening that up may help make them more comfortable to play as the outer drone is no longer in the crook of your elbow and the weight of the drones isn't pulling them off your shoulder as much.

Yeah, I know about the tartan tie thing. It was my great grandfather's so I'm a bit sentimental with it. And quite right, not used to wearing a tie at all.

Now that you mention that, Eagle, it does pull off the shoulder often, I will have to fix that cord.

Looks great, mate. I am also a long-haired musician. I suggest using some frizz control hair product and keep it tied back when you perform.

    Handsome kilt!
Best of luck and condolences to the grieving family.

I do tie it back, but the frizz is hard to control. I've used gel and it doesn't last long.

I was a long-haired 20-year-old a long time ago...just wish I knew about the power of the kilt back then!

That is a good looking Morrison tartan kilt and tie. I would wear them both proudly, although not at the same time.
