    Casual and even less casual.

So I'm finally getting the hang of dressing up kilted in a more formal and less than formal manner, usually preferring to dress nicer when going to town. But the warmer season is coming and so this is new to me when kilts are concerned. I've scanned some past threads and retrieved ideas as to warmer weather outfits but still am leery of how they will be noticed. This is one I came up with for today as we go to town with the weather becoming much warmer today:

Question is: the boots, socks and kilt go together well colour wise but with the white shirt and such, do you think this looks good? I find it decent and will give it a go but am always looking to get better at pairings.
And the boots are new for me,being the first pair of black leather boots I have ever owned! As this is the Portland area though, I have a feeling all will be fine. Wish me luck!

It looks good to me. Polo shirts and rugby shirts make a good addition to your wardrobe.

Looks good to me, too. I often wear white shirts with the kilt, probably because I have several white shirts and it's an easy choice.

Short sleeve pullover Henley style shirts are one of my short sleeve favorites. They can be worn with a fleece vest if the spring nights get cool. Also there are many quick dry Columbia, REI etc shirts that are in nice colors and checks that are quite comfortable and look casual as well as sharp. You are in the PNW so yes the boots and socks will do just fine. You are off to a good start, I would only suggest some color or checks in the shirt department.

I think the outfit works very well. I would only suggest that you wear your sporran a bit lower. It should not be right up against your belt, position it about 3-4 inches below.

    Otherwise you look great

    Cheers
