How a kilt is made / Why does a kilt cost so much?

Ever wonder how we make our Premier 8 yard kilts? Ever wonder why some kilts are $500 + when others are under $100? We took photos during the construction process of an 8 yarder and "pull back the curtain" so to speak (sorry for the pun) on our blog:

Thanks for the link! Very educational. Having just made my first kilt, I have a tremendous respect for the trade and understanding of the cost.

Great summary. The pics say a thousand words.

    Question: What tartan is that?

That is the Stirling tartan. It's one of our private designs that we do in PV as well as wool (and it's our top rental kilt design).
