    Wearing it upside down

A couple months ago as Chicago winter was taking its sweet time turning into Chicago spring, 'was wearing a 5.11 Tactical Duty kilt and tee around the house.

And our Scottie needed to go outside to perform Scottie functions and sniff.

'Grabbed a heavy shirt hanging in the garage...which happened to be a flannel in some "store version of a tartan" and while she wandered, doing the needful, the thought occurred...

...was a solid colour kilt and tartan shirt, "wearing it all upside down"?

Is it legal, disgraceful, bad taste, modern, "okay"...or heresey?

Anyone either done this or have thoughts hereon?

Actually sounds "okay" -- at least -- to me. In fact, depending on the plaid (tartan?) in the shirt and the color of the kilt, it could be quite nice. But then I lean more toward the "I wear a kilt for comfort but don't want to look like a total misfit" philosophy of kilt wearing. Flannel plaid shirts and khaki pants or jeans is a pretty common "style." Why not similarly combined with a kilt?

I have, just this moment, gotten off "The Hot Line". The Kilt Kops will be there in just a few moments. Remain calm. They are there to help you.

They will remove the offending garments from your closet. (With gloves and masks if necessary to avoid cross contamination)
They will also counsel you on the laws of kilt wear. If small, tight, windowless rooms and restraints bother you, or if claustrophobia sets in, simply scream and an attendant will be with you in an hour or three.

You should be home with your loved ones soon. After treatment there will be no further instances of such behavior. You will feel much better and the world will be free of such offenders.

If at any time you feel a relapse coming on simply dial 843-5458-5677 (THE-KILT-KOPS) and a car and ambulance will be dispatched.

When the Kilt Kops arrive tell them there was a misunderstanding. You had new shoes on and did not want to get them wet in the snow, so you were walking on your hands. The plaid on top was really on your bottom and the solid cloth on the bottom were really on your top. I you are lucky they will be tired by the long drive from Canada and the problems at the border.

Seems OK to me. I have found that wearing a tartan waistcoat which matches the tartan of the kilt is a bit too much tartan, so I occasionally wear the tartan waistcoat with a black kilt or black trousers.

Well, If he did walk on his hands wearing a kilt...... I don't think anybody noticed the shirt...... And probably wont be the Kilt Kops that'd showed up....

I've been doing it for years. Seems like a natural thing to do when wearing a solid-colour kilt. But then again, I'm a plaid flannel shirt kind of guy, so I'd be wearing that sort of shirt with any other solid-colour garment like trousers anyway.

I've done that myself. Before I got a tartan kilt, I had no choice but a solid colored kilt but what I wore on top varied widely. Last October, I wore a Pendleton wool shirt with my green Kiltman Kilt to hand out candy and I called myself the "Upside Down Scott".
