Inverness Cape:I know it is a bit early in the year ; )

I realize this is the wrong time of the year to even mention such an item but I must show off my recent purchase! A friend of mine owns a company called Uniforms of Antiquity and had a few Inverness capes on sale she made last year. She did not think it was a real tartan but after I got it home I looked it up and it turns out to be the Aubigny Auld Alliance Tartan. It is real wool and only cost me $150.00. I think she originally asked $250.00. It is made in Oklahoma but by a lady from Yorkshire, England. I find this quite comical. I noticed that most people prefer a tweed or solid color for a cape but I think this particular tartan is not to bright or colorful for a cape. The only thing I need to change is adding buttons to the front. I particularly like the freedom no sleeves give to playing the bagpipes. So, what do you folks think about the Inverness Cape in this tartan? Is it too much?
