What is the longest amount of time you have "jonesed" (waited) for a kilt?

Curious to hear your experiences. What is the longest time you've waited from order until delivery for a kilt from a reputable maker?

Nine months... but when you are dealing with an individual that has a reputation for quality, an individual that has commitments other than kilt making, and the final product lives up to everything you had hoped for the wait isn't so bad.

So far, my longest is the one I'm currently waiting on, due to ship this week, exactly 5 months to the day, from when I ordered it. It's a hand-sewn by D.C. Dalgliesh, in a tartan of my design. So a lot of the wait was in having the wool custom woven. I spoke to Helen (the kiltmaker @ Dalgliesh) just last Friday morning, as we finalized where the tartan would be pleated to the stripe.

    Edit: It shipped today.

For me (I have 5 wool kilts) the longest wait was 10 weeks but the average was 9. If it's your first hand made kilt, or your wool first kilt, I'm not opposed to buying an inexpensive generic kilt to kind of hold you over .

My "hold over" was a nice (one week wait) black watch, that I later sold for about 60% of what I paid for it, and for me the 20-30 $$ loss was well worth the "having a new kilt feel" that I got by getting the OFF THE RACK PV kilt to kind of tide me over.

From a well known kilt maker who is continually busy on several kilts I waited 8 months from the time I mailed my tartan and measurements until the kilt arrived in the post. Well worth every day that I waited I must add.

My family waited almost a year for a Dalgliesh custom weave. The "problem" was that Dalgliesh could not get the yarn in the desired colors. It was during the time that they were in ownership transition, so I'm pretty sure that was a contributing factor.

It was actually an order for enough tartan for three kilts, plaids, and vests for my son, my brother and me. We ended up with three great Blaylock Reproduction outfits, including Kingussie kilts and half-belted plaids from Matt at New House Highland. The vests were made by Gabriel Everson in Ohio. It was an "all's well that ends well" story.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I waited 10 month for one, but knew that in advance.

Well right now it is my current wait on my Czech National which is scheduled to be completed at the 5 month mark. My R'lyeh may surpass that though.
