Balmoral Bonnet #4 - Too much slouch?

I finished fulling/felting bonnet #4 last night. I modified the pattern by extending the 4" knit even rounds section by an inch. I think that may have been 1/2" too much. What do you think?

Too much "slouch"? No. Actually, the variations are many and it is really down to personal choice. Just a thought. If(only if) you are wanting to wear a badge of some sort------ looking at the right side of the bonnet, as we look at it,------you may need to straighthen up(flatten out) the crease in the cloth where the badge will go. Now this will alter the look of your bonnet, not only where the badge goes, but may "move" more cloth to the left side. Are you going to put a toorie on it?

I was afraid of that. I had a less pronounced crease to the right at first but it looked a bit odd due to the prominent slouch.

I'm going to add a cockade to the side. Probably not a 4" square cockade, just a simple one made from 1 1/2" grosgrain like the following but in black, white, and red (for MacQueen) - see photo below.

Or I might make a Jacobite cross similar to this painting:

I will probably also add a toorie from the same yarn. My prior bonnets do not include one, but deep blue color of this one feels like it should.

Looks great to me. I agree with what Jock said about adjustment needed for a cockade.

I'll post a photo of it on my head tonight to give a better perspective. The dummy, the one made out of styrofoam that is, is a bit small. :-)

It's felted just barely down to my head size. There's room to shrink it some more which might help reduce the slouch length. I don't want to over do the shrinking like I did with the green one (in the photo above). Took me a while to stretch out the top enough.
