Its not my fault. Its the clothes.

Yesterday was an awesome day. The plan for the day was to go to the City of Garden. The main tasks were for the Lass to find a power suit for next weeks job interview & for me to pick up my box pleat.
Since I knew I would be out n bout in the city I decided I would kick it up a notch. I started with a hot shower & shave with my new 1963 double edge razor, which I recently started using.
My outfit was my matching charcoal tweed 3 piece, claret hose, heavy green shirt, burgandy striped shirt & brown tweed sporran with matching garter tabs.
Since was a nice day (foggy) I didnt wear the jacket all day. Everywhere I went I got "nice kilt" (even from a 10? year old boy) or the long look.
The one meh comment was in Mill Bay. A sales lady commented that while I looked very nice but couldnt understand why I would wear a kilt when there was no "kilt function". She was more confused when I informed her that I gave up pants 2 years ago.

    Great story.
Yes indeed you can walk tall in a kilt in the Garden City of Victoria.
Mill Bay, well its a small town and perhaps they are less conditioned to the sight of kilts there.
Next time I visit the island I must sample the Mill Bay to Brentwood Bay ferry as an alternative to going over the Malahat.

For the most part, dressin up in the Valley is black jeans & a white shirt, usually with a black leather vest. Other than Burns Nite I havent seen a kilted man here.
If you do the Mill Bay - Brentwood run Im not too far from down town Mill Bay...

But how did she know there was "no kilt function"? Had she checked?

    Nice write up.

I also gotta ask, since it became my main hobby a while back - Flare Tip Superspeed, Slim or Tech? ;)

That day I used my 63 Fatboy. I was lucky enough to pick up a 63 Fatboy (with case) & a 68 Slim at a local pawn shop for $5. Both are are in like new condition. DE shaving is my new hobby too. The kewl thing is I get the best shaves with the ol skool stuff. Who da thunk.

I'm right with you on that. Discovered using vintage razors early last year and haven't looked back.
