    Ian at GlenGarry Hats is my go-to guy for Balmorals and Glengarries. Quality on par, or perhaps better, than Bob Mackie at 1/3 the cost.
    Shipping to the US may take a while due to customs, and Ian does not carry a huge inventory, so not as fast as walking into your local shop. But I have not yet been anything but fully pleased.

    Really? If true, it's the first time a Pakistani/Indian maker was on par with a traditional Scottish maker, in matters of Highland Dress. Are those hats knit and shaped in the traditional way? Or made from woven fabric?

    Maybe I'm a hat snob, but I've never owned, in nearly 40 years of kiltwearing, a hat made by anyone other than Mackie. The Balmoral I'm wearing in my avatar was bought in the 1980s and still looks new.
