    Question Shopping in Glasgow

My daughter is studying in Galway and tells me she is making a visit to Glasgow soon. I would like to be able to direct her to a decent place to find some accessories for gifts. Maybe a sgain dubh for me, a sash pin for my wife, etc; not tourist fare, but not extravagant.

She and her roommates will be meeting friends, and I have no idea where they will be once they arrive. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated. Thank you!

Geoffrey (Taylor) in Sauchiehall Street and Macgregor and MacDuff in Bath Street are the more traditional emporia.
I've had a couple of splendid kilts and other good items from McCalls in Ingram Street (? I think) and Slanj in Vincent Street, which are more contemporary and Hector Russell is also there in Buchanan Street.
There are odds and ends to be found in the Barras, a market area towards the East.

I have heard good things said about Slanj and I am a returning customer of Geoffrey (Taylor).

Hector Russell has a shop in Buchanan Street in Glasgow. I haven't been into their Glasgow branch, but if it's anything like their shop in Edinburgh (the Princess Street one), then it'll definitely be worth having a look as they make and offer some great stuff.
