    Wink Kilted Guest Conductor

My wife suggested we attend a concert of the Connecticut Pops Orchestra which I readily agreed to. I wore my Christmas present - a new Ancient Buchanan full traditional kilt (which is gorgeous - thank you Bonnie Heather Greene!). I paired it up with a tweed jacket and sweater, so I looked pretty good. Little did I know that my sweetheart had bid on and won a 'guest conductor' spot for me for one of the numbers they would perform! It has been a life long dream of mine to conduct a professional orchestra and the experience was wonderful. The orchestra were very kind and did a good job of following my amateur effort. Children were invited on stage to ring bells and all it all it was a great deal of fun - made all the more memorable because I wore the kilt! Photos follow:

Good go, C T; a wonderful opportunity and kilted to boot. Your new kilt looks great and even with the saxon jacket, overall, you look sharp. I think you've conducted yourself quite well!

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
