    Kilt Hose Color Recomendations

I'm in the need for kilt hose and I would like some recommendations as to color. I currently only have one pair in cream. My current kilts are a Sports Kilt in Fraser Hunting, Stillwater Economy in Mackenzie and three 5.11 TDKs in green, black and brown. I'm considering a USAKilts 5-yard in Fraser Modern if my budget will allow.

What colors would the rabble here recommend? The kilts would be mostly worn in a casual setting.

    Thanks,

    Kent

My go to hose are charcoal grey, burgundy /maroon, lovat green, navy blue and ancient or lighter blue. Oatmeal or bison are real nice too.

Given the budget comment (I'm still working on my hose collection a la brewerpaul due to) I recommend charcoal and black. Lovet green if wanting to "go lighter" but flexible. And then, yeah, just keep watching for good sales.

I think that you could do much better than a basic black. To me, the traditional colour to wear would be lovat green; however, those with more experience (and choices) would likely opt for a deeper shade such as burgundy or mustard yellow. While I agree that those colours do set off a kilt quite nicely, as a starter set of hose, lovat green or blue might be a good choice.

Finally, what ever colour you choose, I am sure that you will be happy with the choice - go for it.

My ancient green, bottle green, lovat blue hose seem to go with everything, though mustard is on my short list, along with purple, but I'm seeking a pale purple and that is hard for me to source on a budget

I asked this question a while back, lots of good feedback here:
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-modern-87009/

I wear Lovat green and charcoal gray. I want a pair of claret eventually. As for cost, piper hose can be a bit less expensive. Watch for sales.
