Making more advances
Yesterday evening my wifes friend called to drop something back that my wife had lent her. She stayed about an hour and then decided she had better head off home before it got to dark ... the sun was just setting. The wife suggested we walk her home and take the dogs with us. She lives about a mile away. Since I had my kilt on, I just took one deep breath, stuck on my leather jacket and off we all went. We were gone about 40 mins. Lots of cars passed, quite a few people and no reactions at all. I really feel I'm getting closer now to just wearing my kilt out on my own doorstep when I want too. My wife is just fantastic about supporting me and only said when we got back shes always proud to walk with me when I'm out wearing my kilt. I'm cooking her a nice meal tonight together with some nice wine as a way of thanking her for her loyal support. I shall off course be wearing my kilt .. but drinking some Theakstons 'Old Peculiar' beer and not the wine.

Theakston's Old Peculiar...
Aye, Derek, Good on ya, as Graham & the Aussies would say!
Funny, a friend of mine (who lives in Arkansas) & I were just talking about "Old Peculiar" last night -- it is his all-time favourite beer!
Cheers!

Excellent, Derek! Really, with a little time it should become very easy for you to dress as you please without concern for how you are perceived, and you will find that the confidence which you build from this will 'taint' other aspects of your life. I am glad that your wife is so supportive. That makes things easier.

A great choice in beer!

well done Derek, you are SO blessed to have a supportive wife.
It will get better and better the more you step out in confidence. Just tell yourself that you look as good as you feel, head up, chest out and go for it!

Good job Derek! It is great that your wife is so supportive, but even so you still must take these steps with your own two feet. I can feel the pride from here.

Derek,
Those that did notice you were probably admiring your leather jacket.
I'm serious. People just aren't that observant or interested.
It goes with the old adage: If you want to hide something put it under peoples noses.
Great to hear you out and about in your kilt.

MAKING MORE ADVANCES can be said for all of us.

Derek,
What an inspiration even to this regularly kilted guy! I love to hear these non-events events. Glad that you are feeling more comfortable with it! Keep up the good work.
