No kilt .. but great compliment

The wife and I were waiting on the bus stop yesterday when a middle aged lady came along whom we had met when we were at the Church Fayre over a week ago. 'Hello' she said,'no kilt today?'... I said no. 'What a shame' she said 'You look very smart in it and it suits you'. I must say she put me on cloud nine and set me up for the day. The wife was very chuffed that I had had this compliment paid me and simply said 'I told you your kilt is cool'. Derek

Derek that's absolutely fantastic! To get compliments while kilted is one thing, but you've obviously stuck in people's minds and made one heck of an impression. Keep up the good work!

What a difference a kind word can make to someone else whether kilt related or not.

Makes me think about how I respond to others.

Absolutely Graham.. Just giving people we don't know a compliment about something lifts their day. It's a great booster for them and can be an opening to make many friends.

Thats great !! .soon you will be kilted all the time and probably not even give it a second thought.
keep these times in mind when you kilt up. One question, what does chuffed mean.

    thanks
    Dave

I had to look this one up a few months ago when I read somewhere that Scots are "chuffed" that others would take up their national dress. To me the word sounded negative, but the context of the sentence was such that it suggested the Scots were pleased. I looked it up and yes,"chuffed" does mean very pleased!
