Richard,
The tartan looks like MacPherson, Hunting and so I'm pretty sure that this one can only be the 6th Inverness Rifles.

There were numerous Victorian Volunteer Bns and then a huge number of Territorial Regiments formed under the 1908 Haldane Reforms.
I assume that you have access to Records of the Scottish Volunteer Force 1859-1908 by Maj Gen JM Grierson?

I found this photo, marked as 13th (Fife/Perthshire) Rifle Volunteers, 1860. It Looks as the same unifrom.

In the "Records of the Scottish Volunteer Force 1859-1908" by M-G J.M.Grierson (1909) their uniform described as — dark grey doublets with scarlet facings, Macdonald tartan kilts, plain glengarries, and black belts.
But I am not sure that it's Macdonald of Ardnamurchan on the photo.
Question - what kind of MacDonald tartan? For me this tartan looks like Macdonald dress.
Dear figheadair , what do You think?

I don't know what book this is from (do tell) but it's wrong. It's not the 13th (Fife/Perthsire) RV but Corporal Angus Cameron of the 6th Inverness Rifles c.1869. Here are a couple more of him. He had some local fame at the time having twice won the Queen's Prize at the National Rifle Meeting of volunteers.

I found this photo in the Regiment #11 devoted The Black Watch (Royal Highland regiment).
Thank You for accurate definition.

I don't know the Regiment. Presumably a publication?

Looks like Gordon, possibly Lamont, tartan. Possibly one of the many Aberdeenshire Volunteer Bns,
