    Company Xmas get together

My company is having a Christmas get together from noon to 5pm for there employees. Do you think I could show up in my kilt in a casual/semi formal dress?
I know I would be the only one in a kilt and most people will be casual to a little dressy.
    Any ideas

Go for it! My company party is this weekend, but I'll be wearing a suit. A kilt would not go over well with a bunch of construction guys. If you can swing it, definitely wear the kilt. I wouldn't go full formal, but the dressier end of daywear would really make a good impression.

Wear the Maple Leaf tartan or as my wife calls it the Christmas tartan (because of the colours). Then should anyone hassel you for showing up in a kilt you merely point out that it is our national tartan

The last time I wore my kilt to the company's xmas party my bosses wife keep shoving her phone up my kilt to answer her question. I wanted to slap her hand away, but loved my job to much, so I just scooted around the camera.

I started wearing my kilt to my company Christmas party about 10 years ago. Now it's expected and I get the impression people would be pretty disappointed if I showed up in a suit instead.

I work in construction too. I would say a few dozen of my co-workers know that I wear a kilt, and it's not a problem with any of them. They've seen pictures on my screen saver. They've seen me wear one at Warrior Dash. They've seen me throw in one at the recent highland games.

    Re: Company Xmas get together

Most people I work with know I wear a kilt though I'm not allowed to wear it at work. I get a lot of grief over it, but considering the source of that grief, I really don't care.

If I chose to go to one of my company parties, I would definitely do it up in spades. Full bore to show them just how elegant a guy in a kilt can be. But I just can't bring myself to spend anymore time with them than I already do, much less subject my wife to these people (with very few exceptions).

Go with what you are comfortable wearing and you'll have a great time! This is the season to show some feathers

That is interesting, granted it is not my kind of kilt but I was under the impression that UKs were big with construction, manual trade individuals.
I know I have seen roofers in UKs.
