I tried to quote you to see, but it doesn't work for me either. Mind you, I just quoted someone on another thread, and there the quote feature worked fine. Strange.

None of the BB Tags on this thread are working... all the way to the beginning the [IMG] tags, etc... are all dead.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

Honestly, I could care less about the broken tags. Cut, paste, good to go.
The main point is- That sporran is a thing of beauty! Absoultely fantastic... I like it MUCH better than the one in the painting.
It looks like it could probably hold quite a quantity of junk, too. Am I right?
Another triumph, Scott. It's a lucky man, who'll wear that sporran.

Re: Project Blog - Historic Sporrans / Brass Cantle Project
Back to brass-
Last week I'd finally gotten to a place in my working drawings and models that I finally felt really good about cutting some brass-

I've had a special "God's-Eye" tool-steel metal stamp made, which finally arrived. This was shot before the face was annealed and stamped.
Silver soldering is progressing now.
You all may note that this is a change from my original two designs:

My original idea of cast brass won't be happening anytime soon. In one way this is quite good, as built-up construction allows for customization, both in design and size.
This one is a custom order. The next cantle I plan on making is the half-octogon. The round top will require yet-another expensive tool to do the large, even, bends. So that style will have to wait until I have a commission for one, or simply get around to buying said tool.
I'm hoping to have all the brazing, grinding, and polishing done by week's end. and the bag finished shortly after.
