Irrelevant in this day and age, and in this country. So, I'd say "ancient" history stuff....

    Lookin' good, Scout!

I like your kilt and the shirt you picked to wear with it. I'm a fan of drip-dry tech and fishing shirts with the kilt for casual wear.

Is Katja a pure-bred shepherd? I know you live in Maine, but even for this time of year, her coat looks too thick for a GS. I had two as a boy and love the breed very much.

Thanks to all for the kind remarks.

That was my thought too. Around here I'm happy that folks can identify it as a kilt more often than not, let alone identify the tartan or make a connection to any political implications it may have had. I intentionally chose a Black Watch as my first kilt since it seemed (from my research here on the forum) that it had become more or less “universal”.

Yes, Katja is a pure bred Shepherd. Her coat stays pretty thick year round which is surprising given the amount of it that she leaves all over my house! At eleven she's a senior citizen but she's a good girl and she's still got my back.

What a beautiful Shepherd. Male or female? I used to have a Dobie. Big, friendly beast he was. I miss him every day.
You sir, look great in your kilt. Carry on and great job!

Congratulations on your first kilted outing. You look great! The Black Watch is always a good pick. Katja is beautiful!
