That's just beautiful... Go on Jock... admit it, you're feeling the buzz aren't you. Nothing like the feeling of a new kilt. I fully understand your ethos of one Bloke, one kilt; but isn't it magic when that special one tips up?
It's a tribute to you too that you've gone to extra trouble to make this one very special. I'm pleased that Paul has brought it to fruition. I've seen his work and he makes a tremendous kilt.
I also recall you posting a while back about the story of the pin. I was moved by that at the time and I can't think of a better marriage.
Congratulations on your new work of art. Don't be overcome by it all and start buying a load o' rubbish off ebay now wiil ya!!

Hello, Jock.
What a pleasure to follow this thread. Lovely stories, beautiful photos. Great tartan. Great kilt. Well done.
I can't help but wonder, will you be attending the Northern Meeting this year? I'm hoping to be able to make it. Perhaps we might meet for a dram, or two?
Cheers!

Very, very nice. That kilt is quite a piece and the pin is a gem. Thanks for sharing that with us.

I have to confess that the Northern Meeting is not my scene and I have not been for years. You never know though, if there is nothing flying, running, or, swimming for me to pursue, then a wee dram does sound very attractive!

Has Jock gone "matchy-matchy" on us?
All kidding aside, that's a handsome tartan made into a handsome one-of-a-kind kilt.
It had to happen sometime. Much along the lines of "blind pig finding acorn" and "roomful of monkeys with typewriters producing [insert unique document name]," there is undoubtedly some well-researched probability of the repeated random selection of THCD bits-n-bobs eventually producing a matching set. . . just don't expect it to happen again any time soon!

Looks good Jock; I appreciate you sharing the photos with us. The one of you in "wedding attire" is going into my collection of "How It's Done" photos.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Crikey! Just so you know, I should think that there were some 100 people attending the event and at a rough count there were some forty guests dressed in the kilt from various backgrounds and all wore tweed argylls of various hues and shades and not one semi-dress sporran, PC, black tie, white hose, dress argyll, shirt sleeves, open necked shirt,T shirt, ghillie brogue in sight. What I was wearing in that picture, allowing for day to day and individual variations is a version of, as I have said many times, standard kilt attire for most Highland weddings.

Good job, Jock!
Your efforts in battling Photobucket are much appreciated. Great story on the new kilt and the old pin, but I especially like how you posted a few action shots. It's good for people to "put their money where there mouth is"

Hail Hail, Jock, very nice indeed. Who got your old one, or have you joined the ranks of the Decadent Owners of Multiple Kilts? Now you'l have a great reason to tuck in heartily- "got to make sure the kilt isn't getting loose!" Thanks for showing us.
